Brands we love

June 19, 2019

We have decided to focus our attention on the nation across the pond. Over the years, Northern America has started to infiltrate the interior design world with some chic, timeless designs. So these brands have become personal favourites, and we’re hoping they’ll become part of the Streamlight family sometime soon.

Gabriel Scott

With backgrounds in architecture, industrial design and jewellery-making, Gabriel Kakon and Scott Richler bring a multidisciplinary set of skills and style to the furniture and lighting world as GABRIEL SCOTT.

All Gabriel Scott pieces are handmade in their Montreal production studio where the young visionaries work together along with their in-house team of industrial designers, engineers and manufacturers to create and oversee each piece from inception to production.

Roll & Hill

Roll & Hill collaborates with some of the most exciting independent designers working today. They are committed to on-demand production, which allows for each piece to be customized to a client’s needs. Founded in 2010 by Jason Miller, their number one focus is to create a collection of beautiful and unique lighting fixtures.

Their pieces draw from a rich material palette that includes brass, bronze, leather, wood, hand-knotted-rope and mouth-blown glass. Their designs have a familiar yet totally new feel.

Allied Maker

Allied Maker is a New York-based design and manufacturing studio. Their mission is to deliver artisan crafted, highly engineered, sophisticated, yet simple lighting design solutions. Their inspiration is fueled by an obsession with natural materials such as brass, glass, and hardwoods along with love for artisan craftsmanship.

The company was started in 2012 as a garage woodworking studio on Long Island. Principals Lanette and Ryden Rizzo were neighbours at the time, and have built Allied Maker into their dream design studio with a strong manufacturing backbone.

It’s exciting to see all these boutique lighting design brands popping up all over the world. A much-needed spotlight has been placed on designer lighting, and it’s Streamlights mission to keep you all informed.
